MIRRORING AS A GENERATOR
Date: Winter 2021 | Professor: Tei Carpenter | Course: Design Studio II
The system behind the design was to mirror a base geometry, keep the mirrored copy, transform and merge it with other elements to create different forms. Each level has a different base geometry and sequence.
The design has a central core that guides the crossed diagonal circulation. The core acts as a portal to move through the mirrored elements.
Playing with different materials and transformations for the base geometry allowed the creation of four different atmospheres within the building: outdoor open spaces, shared indoor spaces, private indoor and outdoor spaces.
