SOLAR TOWER
Date: Winter 2021 | Professor: Nicholas Hoban | Course: Modeling and Fabrication in Design
The Solar Tower is a parametric high-rise building with trapezoidal solar activated components that collect renewable energy in the form of sunlight and convert that light into electricity.
The panels open when exposed to the sunlight creating apertures that provide self-shading. The tower has a glass layer supported by an exoskeleton structure that follows the shapes of the trapezoidal components.
This project was created using Grasshopper exclusively. The code is designed to respond to the movement of the sun, and it can be applied to any surface.
